Brief:
Illustrate an A2 poster announcing the CBA Concours d’Elegance event, with the theme ‘classic tales’.

WHAT IS THE CBA CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE ?
The Concours d’Elégance (French for a ‘competition of elegance’) is a car competition that dates back to the 17th-century in France. French aristocracy paraded horse-drawn carriages at the time and it has since morphed into a competition for cars and motorcycles. Cars and motorcycles entered into the competition now are either vintage or classic and are judged according to their appearance and condition. Concours d’Elégance events are held in the world with the biggest one being the
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, California.

The Kenyan Concours d’Elégance was founded in 1971 and has been held every year since. It is organized by the Alfa Romeo Owner’s Club Kenya and is sanctioned by the Kenya Motorsports Federation and the FIM Africa. This event has grown to be the biggest motoring event in Kenya and it attracts 10,000 visitors on average.

Concours d’Elegance is one of the main highlights on Kenya’s social calendar where old stories are shared and new ones are made. Whether it is the story of a journey, or a historical highlight, every prestigious classic and vintage car and motorbike showcased at the event share a common value; they all have their own uniquely interesting classic tale to tell.
Early process:
There was so much process work it's hard to know what to include here.
Many many compositional changes and colour variations.

I was really happy with the final result, and glad they chose a more minimal colour pallette, because of the complexity of the composition, even though I really love those more african colour combinations down below.
